Amag receives major order from Ruag Aerostructures

Amag components has signed a multi-year contract with Ruag Aerostructures to supply parts and components primarily for the Airbus A320.

Amag components has signed a multi-year contract with Ruag Aerostructures to supply parts and components primarily for the Airbus A320.

The major contract, which will run for several years, will thus deepen and expand the long-standing customer relationship between Amag and Ruag. Amag components with its headquarter in Übersee am Chiemsee in Germany, a fully owned subsidiary of AmagAustria Metall AG since the beginning of the year, has been working successfully with Ruag Aerostructures for many years. As an important supplier of complex individual parts and assemblies, Amag components has now been able to secure the existing scope of supply for years to come and obtain additional orders for new parts and assemblies. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the contract, which has a total volume of around one 100 m EUR.

Reduction of the carbon footprint through closed-loop recycling

"This important and successful contract with our long-standing customer Ruag Aerostructures in Oberpfaffenhofen in Germany is a wonderful confirmation of our clear focus on high-quality special products, as well as our reliability when it comes to delivery assurance and service. The combination of expertise in machining at the German sites and the sustainable production of aluminium input material as well as recycling in Ranshofen, makes our offering unique", says Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.

Multi-year contract between Amag and Ruag

"This result demonstrates the quality of the partnership and rewards the daily work of the teams on both sides. With the extension of the supply contract we contribute towards the stable ramp-up in production of the A320 Single-Aisle-Programme, under currently very challenging conditions. Our cooperation ensures customer satisfaction and proves the competitiveness of Germany as an aviation location“, says Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Pauli, Manager Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain Quality at Ruag Aerostructures.

In addition to the technical requirements for the products, which are primarily used in the Airbus A320 Single-Aisle-Programme, the focus was particularly on reducing the use of raw materials in production. AMAG offers the best prerequisites for this, as almost the entire production process - from raw material (primary aluminium, aluminium scrap) and semi-finished products (sheet, plate) to ready-to-install individual parts or assemblies - is provided from a single source. This set-up is unique and brings efficiency and assurance for the customers.
