Constellium is the primary supplier of aluminium body sheet for the new Mercedes-Benz CLS model. The four-door coupé entered the market in March 2018. Constellium will provide the coils for the outer trunk lid panels and fenders of the CLS. The high demands on the skin quality of the material along with specific hemming and roping properties can be met by Constellium’s highly malleable aluminium alloy Surfalex. Constellium delivers aluminium solutions to all main Mercedes-Benz car lines, stresses the company.
