The Belgian high-tech metal processing service center Decomecc NV from Genk expands its aluminium division with a new slitting line.

Slitting line expands product portfolio of the aluminum division

With the Georg precisionslit 2350, Decomecc is penetrating the market of aluminum strips with high thickness range from 0,8 to 7,0 mm. Equipped with an electrostatic oiling machine for drylube and prelube oil types, the powerful new slitter can process coils up to 2.350 mm wide. Advanced metering systems for oil film thickness, material gauge and strip width constantly monitor the production quality.

Investment into automotive market

Over the last 5 years Decomecc completed a first phase of 40 million euro investments in the latest technology and applications to ensure top level production and services for their automotive customers. The family-owned company upholds the highest standards and is certified by several automotive manufacturers. With this new expansion into slitting, Decomecc launches a second phase of investments allowing them to take quality and service to a new level.

Success through long-term technology partnership with Georg

After careful consideration, Decomecc decided on the German Aluminum specialist Georg. The very good productivity indicators, the high level of competence in the areas of aluminum and high bandwidths, the good service quality and the well-known reliability of the systems and processes ultimately tipped the balance for the German finishing line manufacturer.

The partnership between Decomecc and Georg, which has existed since 2004, is thus entering a new phase. Since the start, a number of technologically challenging projects have already been tackled together. Over the years, Georg has delivered several cut-to-length and packaging systems as well as individual units to Genk, which have repeatedly given Decomecc a competitive advantage.
