The official programme for the EAC European Aluminium Congress 2019 on ‘Aluminium and Mobility'’ is available.

Registration for participation in the congress is now possible. EAC 2019 will be held on 25 and 26 November in Düsseldorf by the German Aluminium Industry Association (GDA). Hardly any other sector has a greater need for change than the field of transport. CO2 emissions are at the heart of government regulations and are driving technological change – whether it be in the automotive industry, aircraft construction or local public transport. Digitization will significantly change both the mode of transport itself and its use. There are many highly attractive systems that are already competing with each other in urban areas, and this development will continue to gain momentum.

It is important for the aluminium industry to accentuate the benefits of our metal further and remain the winner in the transformation process. Key topics of the congress are the various possible uses of aluminium and possible further developments that will make vehicles and other means of transport of the future even lighter and more energy-efficient.

Against this background, this year’s EAC was able to attract top-class representatives from the automotive, aviation and aluminium industries, from universities and research institutes and from mobility start-ups, who will report and discuss the future of mobility systems, the requirements placed on materials and designs and the opportunities that aluminium has to offer.

On the first day

of the congress, the opening speech by a representative of the European Commission will highlight the political framework for future mobility. Keynote speeches will then shed light on the change from an entrepreneurial perspective. A high-level panel discussion, with representatives from the aluminium, aviation and automotive industries and a mobility start-up, will round off the first day.

The second day

will be dedicated to four sessions: Automotive / Transport; Processes / Heat Treatment / Joining; Surface / Additive & Digital Manufacturing / Recycling; and Markets. Speakers and participants from OEMs, plant and machine manufacturers, suppliers and equipment partners will address innovative developments, new technologies, strategies and perspectives for the use of aluminium in future mobility applications and their solutions.

An accompanying exhibition and sponsoring opportunities round off the programme.

The congress language will be English, all presentations will be simultaneously translated into German and English. Further information can be found at www.aluminium-congress.de. Online registration for the EAC 2019 is also possible there with immediate effect.
