Following the signing in September 2019, the takeover of Hydro Aluminium’s extrusion plant in Chisineu-Cris, Romania, by Hammer Aluminium Industries was successfully closed at the beginning of February. With this step HAI is expanding its capacity and further developing all three company divisions – construction, industry and transport. The new HAI site has two extrusion presses with a production capacity of 22.000 tpy. This increase in capacity enables HAI – even with an already high utilization in 2020 – to support its customers on their growth journey in 2021.
Including the new site, HAI employs 1,400 people in its three business divisions casting, extrusion and processing at its headquarters in Ranshofen (Austria), in Santana (Romania) and at four production sites in Germany. HAI has now ten extrusion presses with a production capacity of around 100.000 tpy. Together with an annual casting capacity of 200.000 tpy, HAI is one of the leading companies in the European aluminium industry.
HAI registered sales of around €510m in 2018. Its products are not just found in the automotive industry but also in the construction sector, transport technology, electrical engineering applications, as well as machinery and plant engineering.
