Hydro acquires German powder coater MBG
Hydro has completed the acquisition of MBG Metallbeschichtung Gerstungen GmbH.
MBG is a German powder coating specialist with around 100 employees. The company was founded in Gerstungen in 1998 in the immediate vicinity of Hydro’s logistics centre. For more than 20 years, MBG has been an important partner of Hydro Building Systems for powder coating.
“This acquisition supports Hydro’s strategy of further integrating and expanding the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) region’s logistics centre to offer our customers even greater product diversity and excellent service,” says Ralf Seufert, vice-president Hydro Building Systems.
The move completes Hydro’s range of aluminium construction systems in the DACH region with further integrated service offerings in surface treatment. The business activities of MBG and the good cooperation with employees, customers and suppliers will continue unchanged. Hydro Building Systems intends to continue its business relationships with its other surface treatment partners.
