Hydro sells interest in Vietnamese extrusion plant
Hydro has closed a transaction with a local Vietnamese company for the sale of Hydro’s interest in Sapa Ben Thanh Aluminium Co., Ltd. The company operates a manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City and is a joint venture with the Ben Thanh Group. The decision to sell Hydro’s 65% stake in the joint venture is part of the overall review in Extruded Solutions, aiming to optimize and streamline the portfolio. The transaction was completed in January 2020. The manufacturing plant in Ho Chi Minh City has around 230 employees and produces around 3,500 tpy, mainly for the building and industrial segments.
