Leadership change at Trimet
Trimet Aluminium SE with headquarters in Essen, Germany, announced a change at the top of its management board on 26 November: Trimet’s chief executive, Martin Iffert, is leaving the company by mutual agreement. His successor, with immediate effect, is Philipp Schlüter, deputy chairman of the Trimet supervisory board. With Schlüter, a member of the owner family is again taking over the operational management of the company. In addition, Andreas Lützerath, previously plant manager at Trimet’s Essen site, will join the executive board as technical director.
Philipp Schlüter has been responsible for retail trade and sales at Trimet Schweiz AG for ten years, where he was also in charge of the areas risk management, raw material procurement and energy management. As Heinz-Peter Schlüter’s eldest son, he also represented the owner family on the supervisory board after his father’s death. Schlüter will remain chairman of the supervisory board of Trimet France SAS.
Thomas Ludwig, chairman of the supervisory board of Trimet Aluminium SE, said: “Trimet’s self-conception as a family business is thus also expressed at the top of senior management. We are pursuing a policy of continuity, consistently following the path that has made us successful since the company was founded: reliability towards customers and employees, sustainable growth and long-term security of livelihoods. This is the mission to which both Philipp Schlüter and the owner family are committed.”
