Redex reinforces its metal strip processing solutions

With the acquisition of patents from BWG GmbH, the Redex Group offers new solutions for metal strip processing.

The patents of BWG, which filed for insolvency in the middle of last year, enable Redex to offer a much larger portfolio for the finishing of metal strips from foil to heavy gauge coils.

With the aim to develop new technologies and support metal strip producers (steel, aluminium, copper) worldwide, Redex Group has strengthened its research and development by opening an Engineering Centre in Duisburg. It is headed by Jacques Guyon and Dieter Baukloh. Guyon has been working for the Redex Group in Germany for over 20 years and has been managing director of Redex GmbH since 2006. In the Redex Group he is responsible for the flatness procurement of metal strip as well as for cold and hot rolling mills for precision strip and long products. Baukloh was an employee of BWG.

Modern production and assembly facilities in France (Ferrieres) and Germany (Pforzheim), as well as service centres in China (Shanghai) and the USA (New-Jersey) allows Redex Group to offer full service, from engineering to key equipments through complete strip processing lines, and from automation or measuring and control systems, to spare parts and training.

The portfolio of strip processing solutions from Redex Group includes consulting service, engineering and line modernization, complete process lines (heat treatment, coating, cleaning, etc.), finishing lines (tension levelling, slitting, cut to length), in-line flatness measurement and closed loop control systems, as well as key equipment (skin-pass mills, flying shears, stacking units, edge trimmer, etc.) and toolings (20-high mill backing assemblies, leveller cassettes and working rolls).
