SMS expands management team
SMS group GmbH has expanded its management team: Hans Ferkel will become chief technology officer and Michael Rzepczyk will become chief operating officer.
Guido Kleinschmidt left the management board at his own request. This expansion implements a clear functional organization of the management board with focus on innovative products, efficient order execution and digital processes, the company says in a press release.
Ferkel currently serves as head of Technology and Innovation at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. Previously, he held senior management R&D positions at Volkswagen.
Prior to his new role, Rzepczyk has served as executive vice-president of Metallurgy at SMS, mainly responsible for the execution of major projects.
Next to Ferkel and Rzepczyk the five-member management team consists of Torsten Heising (Finance) and Katja Windt (Digitalization), headed by the long-standing chairman Burkhard Dahmen.
