Abstracts submitted for the Twelfth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar and Exposition (ET ’20), taking place May 19-21, 2020 in Orlando, Florida, USA, are now available to view online. At www.ET20.org the abstracts provide an early glimpse into the technical program to be presented next May.

The ET ’20 abstracts submitted represent the ideas, technology, research, and innovations developed for the aluminum extrusion industry since the previous ET Seminar was held in 2016. Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to submit their technical paper to be published in The Proceedings and deliver a 20-minute presentation at the three-day ET ’20 event to an audience of their peers from around the world.

More than 160 abstracts were submitted for consideration, although not all abstracts will make it to final paper and presentation stage; some are withdrawn by the authors, while others are rejected for various reasons. “The abstracts and resulting technical papers at every ET Seminar are carefully reviewed and evaluated to make sure that the technical program will raise the level of expectation for quality, innovation and performance in the extrusion industry, which is one of the reasons why ET is so special” said ET Seminar Committee Chairman Craig Werner, VP Extrusion Operations for Kaiser Aluminum. “ET ’20 promises to continue that tradition of excellence.”

The technical sessions at ET ’20 are organized into six different categories: Billet Process and Equipment, Extrusion Equipment, Extrusion/Die – Practical, Extrusion/Die – Theoretical, Management Issues, and Value-Added Processes. Each abstract on the website includes the title, author(s), company, country, and the full abstract for the paper submitted for presentation consideration.

The International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminars are well known as the definitive source for extrusion technology research on a wide range of industry-related issues. The technical papers at ET ’20 will be compiled in The Proceedings of the Twelfth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar. Each paid delegate attending the event will receive a digital copy of The Proceedings. Printed volumes and flash drives of The Proceedings will be available for sale during and after the event in May 2020.
